You leave Milan after a visit of its cathedral to reach Lake Maggiore, where a private cruise leads to the Borromean Islands and their gardens. The next day, the Centovalli scenic train climbs to Locarno, in Switzerland. On Lake Como, the boat heads to Bellagio and its stepped lanes, and a full day remains free in Menaggio.
The road then passes through the Franciacorta vineyards, the clear waters of Sirmione on Lake Garda, then Verona, its Arena and Juliet's House. In the Prosecco hills, a tasting precedes a night at CastelBrando castle, facing the Dolomites. Abano Terme then offers two days to unwind in the thermal waters.
Venice closes the journey with three nights: St Mark's Basilica, a cicchetti lunch in a bacaro, the workshop where gondolas are shaped, then a day on the lagoon between the glassmakers of Murano and the colourful façades of Burano.

Flights to Milan.
Milan – Lake Maggiore (3 nights). Arrival in Milan and guided walking tour: the cathedral and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele. Free time for an aperitivo and lunch, then drive to Stresa and check-in on Lake Maggiore.
Lake Maggiore – Borromean Islands. Private cruise to the Borromean Islands, visit of Palazzo Borromeo on Isola Bella, then Isola Madre and its lush gardens. Free afternoon. (B)
Lake Maggiore – Locarno. Centovalli scenic train from Domodossola to Locarno, in Swiss Ticino. Return by train. (B)
Lake Maggiore – Lake Como (2 nights). Guided walk in Como's historic centre, then a day by boat to Bellagio, its cobbled lanes and the Villa Serbelloni park. (B)
